Citizen CPR at the American Red Cross with Julie Hartshorn
A variety of classes are presented each fall and winter/spring terms. Participants can enroll in any number of classes on a space available basis with a membership fee of $50 for each term in which they register.
Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to join regardless of race, creed, color, and/or educational level.
Classes meet in various locations and have diverse formats. Some may meet only once per term; others a number of times. Most meet during the daytime.
Courses involve no tests and no papers — simply learning for the joy of learning in a noncompetitive environment. Volunteer instructors are community members with advanced skills and knowledge in the subject they are teaching. They will maintain a balance of opinion and approach controversial subject with a neutral perspective. Courses are designed to encourage participation and to challenge one's thinking.
Course Offerings Classes reflect an academic focus featuring an array of disciplines such as history, science, philosophy, ethics, political science, art, literature, economics, current issues, nature study, performing arts, and more.
