Volunteer with us

New Dimensions is a non-profit, volunteer organization.  We rely on the work of many different volunteers taking on a variety of roles.  Some of the main ones are described below.  Are you interested in joining us as a volunteer?  We will work to find a role for you that matches your interests and skills.  Click here or on the button below and let us know!

Course Development Committee

Each term this committee meets to generate potential class lists, recruit former and new instructors, as well as Distance Learning classes from museums and universities.  They also use surveys, word of mouth, and waitlists to determine what classes to pursue.  Then committee members work with instructors to develop classes and input the information onto our online system.​

Technology Support

This committee contacts instructors to find out what technological support they need for their class(es). This usually includes (but is not limited to) any audio and visual needs (microphone, projector, etc.). They then ensure that the necessary equipment is available at the venue and assist the instructor as needed before and during classes.  In addition, members of this group also provide assistance for online Zoom classes.

Class Hosts

Class hosts greet members when they come to attend a class, take attendance, and introduce the instructor.  They are selected from members who are enrolled in a class.

Instructors

All of our instructors are volunteers with advanced skills and knowledge in the subject they are teaching.  Many of them are community members while others are experts from afar who join us via Zoom.

​Venue Committee

This committee is responsible for finding suitable and cost-effective locations for classes. They review information from Course Development members regarding instructors' preferences and needs for space and technology.  They make proper arrangements with the selected venues.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors oversees the financial and overall operations of New Dimensions.  Any vacancies on the Board are filled by appointment by the Board. See more about the Board under About.
